Paint IKEA tables

I have 2 of these cute little Ikea tables. I love the look of black furniture. BUT I do not like to dust. These black tables literally show dust 5 minutes after they are dusted.
I couldn’t get the drawer out, so I simply placed a bag over it.
I painted a coat of Kilz on the top of the table.
I then gave it a coat of “free” Glidden paint.
Did you get some of this last fall when they were offering it for free? I had friends and family give me theirs! This is “crisp linen white”.
I know, I need a new lamp. I have no idea what kind of lamp I want. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever be finished with the living room makeover.
What you do NOT see in this picture is DUST! ๐
I love the way the white and the black look together.
I applied 2 coats of the Glidden paint, then 3 thin coats of Polycrylic.
You can see that I lightly distressed the edges.
I spent all day Tuesday cleaning on the garage. I got a lot done, but I’m still a long way from being finished. I have all my spare projects and lumber in the yard and on the driveway. I really see no way of getting it all back in neatly. I have a shed, one of those barn type buildings. I plan to work on that today (Wednesday). I think it’s all pointless. I will notice a difference, but I don’t think anyone else will. They will just look at it in amazement and think to themselves “why doesn’t she clean that up?” hahahah

Ain’t that the truth about black furniture! Love the contrast. Thanks for sharing again at the POPP.
We have those same tables (and 2 matching dressers). I loved them when we bought them, but I also hate the dust issue. AND, I’ve since decided I want to brighten things up around here. Glad to see someone try painting them!!
Looks great with much less dust showing!
