My Repurposed Life-Take 2 Tuesday {shutters}

I love repurposing everything, but some things are more readily available than others. I have picked up a lot of bi-folding doors from alongside the road. A lot of people installed them in the last 25-30 years. Now they are being replaced, and end up being cast off to the garbage.

I of course LOVE shutters, but they are not as easy to come by.

Remember if you’re looking for something in particular—ask your family and friends. I find that Facebook is a great way to announce I’m looking for something, I’ve always found what I was looking for.

  1. I love all of your creaative uses for old shutters. I wated to try using an operational louvered shutter over my sink as a dish draining rack, do you think it would be sturdy enough?

  2. My favorite of those projects is the shutters you turned into a bookcase. Something about those slats (probably the deep blue color too) reminds me of being at the beach.

  3. Wow! What a great collection of ideas for shutters! Lovin’ the magazine rack. 🙂

  4. Love all your ideas! Thanks for including my shutter shelf in your list, A few weeks ago I made two turquoise ones for someone who saw my shelf at your blog. I have quite a few shutters waiting to be repurposed, I think I’ll make a bookcase next with shutter sides.

  5. Another great round-up of projects Gail! We sold a ton of shutters at our sale this past weekend. Many were for upcoming weddings – I love that!
