This is a great way to repurpose old chairs into a triple chair bench.

three chairs repurposed into a bench

Today, I am featuring a project from Rose. She’s one of those friends we all have, that we feel we know so well, even though we’ve never met IRL (in real life). Rose is a major influence and inspiration for me. She is always there for me to “bounce” ideas off of! Well, that’s the back story, on with the project. These 3 not so lovely chairs found a new home with Rose sometime last year.

This summer Rose dug the bench out and completed it! I love the color, I think it looks like stain, but it is paint. The fabric is an old slip cover that someone (dh) had gotten gum on.
I love, love, love the way this turned out. Rose, you rock!

  4. Thanks MaggieH and Mel! This baby sat in the garage an entire year. My son and dil just bought a house and it has a wonderful enclosed entry porch, the perfect size for this bench. That’s what prompted me to get back to finishing the project at long last. It sure makes a difference when you have a destination in mind for what you’re making, doesn’t it? I tend to lose interest in “abstract” projects and have a tough time following it through.
Thanks for posting it for me Gail! You’re the best!
KyLady from the hgtv trash to treasure site inspired me to try this project, she posted her beautiful bench back in April 08. She was kind enough to give step by step instructions and pictures that were so easy to follow. Mine is not nearly as nice as hers came out. I really love that t2t people are so generous with sharing tips and ideas for projects. Gail, its so great that you are paying it forward with all these great how-to posts! Keep them coming!
