I love old windows! I like to find unusual ways to repurpose them. I watched Durwin Rice's video, you should check it out here. I decoupaged pieces from an old calendar.
I cut out the pieces of the calendar, and watered down some regular Elmer's glue-all. I coated the front of the piece then laid it on the window. I then spread more over the back of the piece and used my fingers to rub and massage it to get out all of the air bubbles.
This huge calendar was perfect for the large window panes.
In this photo, you can see through the window to the wall. I was trying to decide if I should leave it plain, or put mat board behind it.
Here it shows a neutral mat board with a slight texture.
This is actually the back of the mat board. (white)

Lovvvve how your window turned out. I have a window just like that. Now I know what to do with it :o) Thanks for the inspiration.

Man, I need to find one of these old windows! I love the dark one the best.
So cool!

Darling...just darling. I think I like the darker one for the backing. Looks neat.

either no backing or the dark backing...

I like it just the way it is now with no back on it. Very cut project!

The dark background looks awesome!!

I really like the no-mat version because it was so unique. But between the two mats, I like the brown one because it makes the colors stand out. Love the idea!

I vote the dark mat! Very cute!

Hmmm, I'm equally as indecisive, they all look great! I think if I had to choose I like it best without any mat at all.

I like it best with the darker mat board behind it. That way the colors pop as well as the frame. Great idea!
