Today, we have a special guest, Betty. Betty doesn’t have a blog, but she sure made an awesome bench with upcycled chairs, and I knew you would want to see it!

repurposed chairsI found these 4 chairs on the side of the road. They were suppose to have white cushions but were black from wear and tear. I had no idea what I was gonna do with them, but I knew that the cushions had to come off.

Upcycled chairs make an awesome corner bench!

After replacing the front wooden parts to the 2 end chairs, that gave me a base to attach the wooden slats for the seat. The upcycled chairs corner bench  came together very quickly after that. I know its one of a kind and I will probably never come across another set of chairs that will fit so nicely together as to form the curve that these upcycled chairs did.

I just started a facebook page called Redo's   Thank you again Gail for being such an inspiration, I think it’s awesome that you can work with all the tools necessary to get your projects done. And because of you I have mustered up the courage to pick up tools myself. I still need a hand from my hubby occasionally but I am no longer afraid to try them alone.

    Happy Repurposing

    Betty

Oh my! Do y’all love this bench made from upcycled chairs as much as I do? Betty doesn’t have a blog, but she does have a new facebook page. If you are on facebook, hop over and check out Redo’s. If you have a great project and would like to do a guest post, let me know. All are welcome at MRL

I love re-purposing too but I've never created a gem like that.

Wonderful project! Would love to know if the seats are salvaged from the original chairs?

I'm sorry I can't answer that, I my guess would be yes. As a repurposer, I would use the original seats. 🙂

thanks for stopping by, and taking the time to leave a comment.

What a clever idea! You have a good eye for repurposing things. I probably would have picked the chairs up from the trash but never would have seen such an innovative idea.

See, it's this kind of stuff that is pure genius! I love the way the slats on the seat line up so well with the posts of the chairs. This is a really interesting unique one-of-a-kind piece that would be really hard to replicate. Brilliant!

Looks fanTAStic, and I LUV the curve!
I stILL can't find the fabric I'm hunting for to upholster and finish mY curved bench. : (
Since I'm keeping it---I reuse to put "something" on it just to finish the job. I'm stubborn like that!

I used a shower curtain from Lowes to reupholster a cushion on a wrought iron bench in my bedroom. That might be a good idea for you too if you can't find what you like in the fabric aisle!

Oh what a cool idea! And now my wheels are spinning. A friend just gave me two chairs that I really don't want to redo. I was thinking about repurposing and this just might be the ticket!
