I have a fun project for you today. You know what a Koozie is, right? Nooo, not that kind of koozie. A koozie encloses or wraps around a beverage. ๐ Or in this case my Koozie wraps around a flower pot!
Do you remember all this fence I got from my sister?
How to hide plastic flower pots

Use reclaimed wood such as fence or pallets
I started by cutting {8} 8 inch boards. I had ripped some of my regular dog eared fencing into about 1 inch pieces. Those were cut in 7 inch lengths. I made two sets of these.
Simple construction using a nail gun
Using my nail gun, I attach two more boards to the corner pieces. I have to use the corner pieces because this fence is very narrow, not giving me any tooth to nail to.
You know what comes next… I added two more boards to the other side. This is how it looks afterwards. uh oh—no bottom? that’s right! I purposely designed these to be flower pot koozies. They surround the plastic pots to give them a rustic look. No need to have a bottom to hold water. Brilliant, don’t you think?
You can see these two potted mums. One is sitting in the koozie, the other is sitting beside the koozie. Simply set the pot into the koozie, and you have a pretty rustic planter for your mums!

Look how pretty they look on this porch.

Mums make me long for the cooler fall temps. I still have a lot of fence left, do you think these will sell at my show in Glendale?

I just love these Koozies, you don’t have to worry about the bottom rotting that way! Mums are my favorite, they produce such beautiful blooms for such a long time. Love how they look on that porch!
Those are awesome Gail! I love them. Pinning:)
