Many of us struggle with places to do our painting. I was doing my spraying in a carport, but it’s so dark in there, that I find I have a difficult time  seeing if I’ve missed a spot.

Then I started spraying my projects on a drop cloth on the driveway. Now, I have a new way to get my projects done.

my-repurposed-life-homeright-spray-shelterThis is the wonderful new Homeright Spray Shelter. It is such a compact size to store away, but opens up to make a roomy spray booth.

homeright-spray-shelterI’ll be honest, the first time I put the paint shelter up, I struggled with the assembly. I’m not a camper, and I don’t have a very good understanding of how tents go up. Smile  Since that first time, I’ve put it up several more times, and it’s gotten so easy I can put it up in about five minutes. The directions are attached right to the bag so you will never lose them! Here are a few key points to remember:

  • Laying it out on the ground or your driveway first is a must
  • The front of the tent has pins that insert into the back poles. The front poles crisscross and end up using the pins on the back of the tent.
  • I find that it’s easiest to insert the front poles and pins, then the back poles and pins.
  • After you’ve done that, attach all of the clips to the poles.
  • There is a ring in the back center that can be secured with an included stake, or weighted down with something heavy if you’re on a hard surface instead of the grass.
  • When taking the Spray Shelter down, go in the reverse order.
  • Lay your tent out neatly, folding it up that way, will allow you to put it up quickly the next time you use it.

finish-max-spray-shelter-After setting up the paint shelter and some sawhorses, I readied my project. It’s a free coffee table I got from my friend Cathy.

finish-max-heirloom-traditions-chalk-type-paintOf course I used my Finish Max with Heirloom Traditions Paint. (Moody)

I thought was going to be a gray, but then it looked blue…. then gray again. So, I guess you could say it’s an awesome blue-gray!

paint-underneath-sideI started by painting the underneath side of the table.

  1. The spray shelter would provide a wonderful place to paint while keeping leaf and other debris off of my projects. I live in a woodlands and it’s difficult to keep stuff off fresh paint.

  2. I have so many small tables I need to redo and it would be great to be able to do them without worrying about paint spray blowing toward the house or the cars

  3. I’m so excited to try this shelter! I live on an Army post in housing so I have to be really careful about where I paint. In Southern Alabama it is brutal to paint in the garage so this would be perfect

  4. This shelter is the perfect idea. I rent and have to be extremely careful where paint ends up! Even outside, I have to ensure paint doesn’t blow in the wind towards anything!!

  5. I just painted that exact same coffee table! Of course I did it with a paint brush. But I would love to be able to paint the shutters my husband is building with the sprayer!

  6. Gail, I thank you for the hints and tips on the Spray Paint Shelter by Homeright. I don’t camp so I would have the same questions. 🙂 Thanks also for such a magnificent giveaway opportunity. Lots to paint around here. 🙂 I’d love to give an outdoor standing clock a patina makeover. Lots of nooks and crannies which would be easy work for the Finish Max. Happy creating!

  7. I would use this often. We have a huge garage would hold 2 semi’s. BUT, it is so full that I don’t have much room to paint. This would certainly do the trick. Thanks for the chance.
