Today I’m telling you about the fabulous Homeright Spray Painting Shelter . I’m so excited about this new and unique product!

Many of us struggle with places to do our painting. I was doing my spraying in a carport, but it’s so dark in there, that I find I have a difficult time seeing if I’ve missed a spot.
Then I started spraying my projects on a drop cloth on the driveway. Now, I have a new way to get my projects done.
This is the wonderful new Homeright Spray Shelter. It is such a compact size to store away, but opens up to make a roomy spray booth.

I’ll be honest, the first time I put the paint shelter up, I struggled with the assembly. I’m not a camper, and I don’t have a very good understanding of how tents go up.
Since that first time, I’ve put it up several more times, and it’s gotten so easy I can put it up in about five minutes. The directions are attached right to the bag so you will never lose them! Here are a few key points to remember:
- Laying it out on the ground or your driveway first is a must
- The front of the tent has pins that insert into the back poles. The front poles crisscross and end up using the pins on the back of the tent.
- I find that it’s easiest to insert the front poles and pins, then the back poles and pins.
- After you’ve done that, attach all of the clips to the poles.
- There is a ring in the back center that can be secured with an included stake, or weighted down with something heavy if you’re on a hard surface instead of the grass.
- When taking the Spray Shelter down, go in the reverse order.
- Lay your tent out neatly, folding it up that way, will allow you to put it up quickly the next time you use it.

After setting up the paint shelter and some sawhorses, I readied my project. It’s a free coffee table I got from my friend Cathy.
Of course I used my Finish Max with Heirloom Traditions Paint. (Moody)
I thought was going to be a gray, but then it looked blue…. then gray again. So, I guess you could say it’s an awesome blue-gray!
I started by painting the underneath side of the table.
Raising your project off the ground really helps your aching back, and allows you to get to hard-to-reach places.
The Finish Max and the Heirloom Traditions paint made this cheapo coffee table look good.
See how I did an easy image transfer on this cheap coffee table.

OMG!!! I JUST a bought a used Homeright sprayer, I have been waiting forever To be able to afford one! I have projects up the wazoo that I have been collecting and I can’t wait to get started! I would LOVE to have one of these tents to protect the house, cars, and kids outdoor toys from stray paint drops! Yay for making creativity easier! Way to go Homeright!
The Spray Shelter is a great idea. Keep that pesky overspray off surrounding items.
That tent looks perfect for spray painting. I have had to spray paint on the ground or in a small tool shed, so the tent looks like it would make painting so much more convenient and comfortable. Thanks for the chance to win these cool prizes.
This would be amazing. We just painted a corn hole set in our driveway and the cottonwood tree was in full bloom. Needless to say, we were picking cotton off of the paint. This would have solved all problems!
This looks like a great accessory. What about the height of the shelter? Do you have to bend while using it?
These are the specs I should have added to the blog post. 🙂
Depth: 72″ at bottom – 30″ at top
Width: 102″ at bottom – 92″ at top
Height: 66.5″
I would use this tent in my driveway to paint some dressers. Any tips on spraying the chalk paint? How much du you have to thin the paint?
I need this shelter because I do my spray painting on the driveway and if there is even the slightest breeze, my paint floats over and coats the Jasmine (or worse, the neighbor’s vegetable garden!).
Wow!! what a great giveaway. I would be able to put all of the products to good use.
A year ago we sold all we have to live in a bus full-time. For a family of 9 that was ALL our furniture. Because of some major health issues and a few other unforeseen circumstances, we have had to start over in a home. With little money, I am trying to DIY everything for our home. This shelter and the Homerite sprayer would be wonderful to helping me to get these projects done. Since November with much time off for the Michigan winter, I have been able to build beds for everyone, get some beat up entertainment centers off Craigslist and from Salvation Army to repurpose into dressers, and some 1970s desks that need painting for my teens rooms for school. These would be a tremendous help!!
i have limited to no space to spray! I have the sprayer, now I need the shelter!
Hello! I am in my first house and have LOTS of projects for painting/repurposing. I do not have a garage, carport, or shed I can paint in. I haven’t started yet because I think my only recourse is the patio with a tarp under my projects. The issue with that is that weather is unpredictable and because my house is in the country there are a TON of insects that get in the paint. HELP! lol
i would use it for painting a bistro chair my dad gave me. i would use the paint shelter because it would keep things off the items while i painted, help on days when it is windy/breezy, and because if i try to paint in the garage, the paint smell sometimes tries to get into the house. the shelter seems to be the perfect size. you could use a utility sink or a garden hose for Rapid Clean for Finish Max.
