Well, the fence is done—mostly! There are a few more things to do, plus a new sidewalk needs to be created. And…. a whole lot of painting!
Painting a fence can be a big challenge, but if you hop over to Homeright.com you will see how I am tackling this huge job and get all the details of how I’m doing it.
In addition, while you’re at Homeright, be sure to check out their new site and I highly recommend signing up for their email subscription or rss feeds by putting homeright.com/diy in your favorite reader.
Update! I painted three more sections yesterday. Even though I had already painted the sections to the left of the arbor, after I painted the sections to the right (yesterday) it made such a HUGE difference and brought a huge smile to my face. I believe part of it has to do with the greener grass.
I averaged about 25 mins per each of these sections. Not bad, eh?

The new website is great–easy to understand and attractive.
I like the new website. But honestly, my favorite project there, at this moment, is your fence. I’m hoping to do something similar for my yard this year.
This project has really renewed my interest in refinishing some furniture I have in my garage. 🙂 I’d LOVE to have a sprayer to make the job easier!
Having built a picket fence – AND painted it by hand – I’m well qualified to say how great yours looks! You’ll get to feel that satisfaction every time you look at it.
Checked out the diy site, and I’m all ready to go clean my car with my steamer!
it looks wonderful!!!!!
Loved seeing Karrie Annes faux locker…did see that before. Good luck on the fence, it looks great!
I have never painted a fence, but I did install a fence with a good friend reusing pickets another friend had removed from his property in order to install a taller privacy fence. Using the sprayer seems much easier than the Tom Sawyer method!
Your fence looks fantastic!!
Loving the new site, and for sure YOU are my fave!
I like how the new site has detailed info on cost and timeframe and difficulty level for the projects. I like your piece on when it is too cold to paint outside with the sprayer.
