I’m taking a look back on my favorite upcycled projects and Home Reno DIY ideas from last year. Choosing only one a month was really difficult. There are a couple of home reno DIY projects, plus a few crafts thrown in. I hope you find something to inspire you to DIY in the new year.
DIY Laundry Cart
This DIY Laundry Cart project is so useful. Using the baskets to transfer laundry from the washer to dryer, and then bring it upstairs has really made doing laundry less of a chore!
Covering Popcorn Ceiling with Wood Planks
Covering popcorn ceilings with wooden planks was a DIY project that was long overdue. It was the perfect solution for my kitchen update!
For March, I couldn’t choose only one favorite project.
Mission Style Headboard Bench with Storage
I’ve made a lot of headboard benches in my time, but this Mission Style Headboard Bench With Storage ranks right up there as an all-time favorite. I think it ticks all the boxes. It’s large, and it offers a lot of great storage.
Wall to Wall Master Closet Makeover
The real favorite from March has to be my closet makeover. This end of the bedroom was wall to wall closet covered with out of date mirrored closet doors. The new look still makes me smile every day and my closet stays so much neater and organized!
Reclaimed Wood Skyline Art
April was a busy month, but it was easier to choose a favorite. I used scraps to make this Reclaimed Wood Skyline Artwork of the Louisville skyline. I was inspired to make my own rustic artwork after seeing something similar in a law office.
Upcycled Pallet Wood Bar
In May I used old pallet wood to make this fun and functional Pallet Bar great for coffee or the hard stuff! I had been storing this piece of glass in my garage for years, so I built the table to fit the glass.
Coffee Table Made Into Hall Table
I’m still so excited about June’s Repurposed Coffee Table into a Hall Table. I didn’t take it to Glendale this past Fall. It’s been in storage waiting for it’s new home in MY hallway. It’s not there yet, but I’m hoping to install it on the wall very soon.
Well, suddenly we’re halfway through the year. Have you found a favorite yet?
Upcycled Cabinet Door Project
Because July is so hot, I didn’t do a lot of projects. However this one was easy to choose for several reasons. I’ve been wanting to do a cabinet door magnetic chalkboard for a long, long time. Honestly, I think I’ve been hanging on to some sheet metal pieces for years—just waiting for the perfect way to use them as a magnetic surface.
Toddler Bench - Repurposed Foot Board
I love to make headboard benches, you probably already know that. This sweet toddler bench makes me smile. But it's not like most headboard benches you've seen on the web. A large headboard was cut in thirds in order to make it.
DIY Toddler Board
You may not know that I am a new grandmother. Yes, my daughter Jamie and her husband Andy adopted our sweet Eli in June! Hence this handy DIY toddler busy board. I love being a grandma, Jamie’s dad and I are known as Mops & Pops, while Andy’s mom is Goodie.
Drawer Front Upcycled Project
Don’t you just love this easy drawer front hook rack with fleur de lis hooks? It’s perfect for jackets or jewelry. Because the drawer front is small, it would even work great in a guest room, or guest bath for robes and such.
Upcycled Thrift Store Pedestal Bowl
I love, love, love being part of the Thrift Store Decor team. We blog about great thrift store fixups every month. For November I repaired a brown pedestal bowl and showed you how to do a simple glaze technique to hide brush strokes.
Creative Bloggers' Share Thrift Store Projects
Speaking of the Thrift Store Decor team, for our December post we did a roundup of our favorite projects. In addition we included our friends’ favorites from the past year. It was fun looking back at so many creative and awesome thrift store projects.
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my favorite projects from 2018! If you did, won't you please pin it? I'd love to know if you have a favorite....
