Wow! It was a busy weekend! I hope you all had a great weekend like I did! It was very productive! I can’t show you pictures yet because my batteries are dead in my camera currently.
But, last week I made this very simple table from a cabinet door.
I laid the cabinet door upside down to get a measurement for my “box”. I used some scrap 1×2’s I had.
I used wood glue and my finish nailer to build the box and attach the legs.
I also used glue and nailer to attach the top (cabinet door).
I like how the cabinet door has a raised panel.
I hit it with some freebie red spray paint.
I knew I would be glazing it, so I wasn’t very particular how the paint covered.
This is after I glazed it with some burnt umber paint watered down to glaze consistency.
Total cost? Nothing! I already had everything I needed to make this sweet little beaut!
This would make a great little side table for my patio or I may use it as a bench for plants. So far it doesn’t have a permanent home.
What have YOU been working on? Did you spend the weekend painting, planting and all that good stuff? I was in Nashville visiting Jamie for her birthday. It was hot, but we got a lot of great stuff done. I will show you pictures tomorrow after I get my camera up and running.

Oh heck, I removed the above one because I had a word spelled wrong….sorry! I didn’t know it would announce it to the whole world. lol
Anyway, what I said was… This was a frugal, fun and fiesty (I hope I spelled that correctly this time around) project and it demonstrates how creative a person can be without spending a dime. Excellent post! Pam @ Sallygoodin

Gail, I love this–great color. I enjoy building things, don’t you? Thanks for linking up to the Under $100 party.
Woo Hoo! Gail, I love this table and it would really pop against my gray house 🙂 It turned out awesome. Thanks for linking to Woo Hoo! Wednesday and joining the fun.
What a cute table! Love the new color. Since it doesn’t have a home yet, I would be happy to take it 😉
Very cool and very rustic!
Love the way it turned out…plain, yet purdy!
Ingenious as Usual! Did you make it standard table height? like 36″? Just wondering. I like that you used the nailer this time for a Quickie project. Looking forward to the pics when you can… 🙂
I love it, I have never thought about using a cabinet door! Thanks for the tip!

I love your red table. The color is fabulous and it could fit perfectly anywhere!
Great idea….now if I only could do stuff like that!

How great is this table! And for free! I spent the weekend cleaning and getting ready for our sons graduation party this Friday!
whew! Lots of work!

i am in an outside kind of mood, and i think that table would look fantastic by someone’s front door! the red is so welcoming!

Too cute. I love the red too! I used my chop saw for the first time this weekend. It was my Mother’s Day present from last year. I never get a chance to use it because I have very curious kids. I am making a daybed type bench for the porch out of a footboard. I want it deep enough so that all the kids can climb up and we can all cuddle, read and tell stories! Thanks for all the inspiration!

Awesome table for zero bucks — can’t beat that with a stick!
Very Nice Gail! And I LOVE the red 🙂 Can’t wait to see your pictures from the visit!

You know, you whip up pieces of furniture like most women whip up goodies in the kitchen! You never cease to amaze me. I love your little table, so simple, so cute!
So cute Gail… I love the raised look on the top… another very clever idea… you do come up with the best ideas…great job.
So glad you had a good time with your daughter. Can’t wait to see what you two accomplished. I bet it is fantastic.
Hugs, Deb
Cute idea Gail! I especially love it cause it’s red! 😉
Can’t wait to see all your projects from Jamies house.
